Tucked in the lovely wooded 50-acre campus of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart (known as St. Francis Woods), the Portiuncula Center for Prayer has been providing peaceful retreat space for 35 years. We are committed to offering hospitality, caring, and warmth during your time with us, whether it be a few hours or several days. Please know all are welcome to follow their spiritual path at ‘The Port”.
The Port is a multi-story building (with elevator access) located at 9263 W St. Francis Rd in Frankfort, Illinois. We have retreat space for up to 50 total guests. Our minimum weekend group size is 15.
OVERNIGHT RETREATS
We have 29 simple bedrooms; 5 of the bedrooms have private bath facilities, the remaining 24 bedrooms share centrally located bath facilities on 2 floors. All linens are provided. Meeting room and AV usage are included in the following per person rates:
Double occupancy is $65 per night
Single occupancy is $75 per night

DAY RETREATS
We have both large and small group meeting spaces. Meeting room and AV usage are included the following per person rate:
Commuters are $30 per day

MEALS AND BEVERAGES
We have licensed chefs that prepare all meals onsite for retreat groups. We offer the following per person options:
Continental Breakfast is $9
Hot Breakfast is $11

Unlimited access to the dining room beverage machines is charged at a rate of $3 per person, per day.

Open, grassy knolls, wooded hiking trails and a small creek invite our guests to enter the solitude for study, prayer, and rest. As the spirit is renewed, so also is the body as natural surroundings and grounds let guests walk, hike, jog, or bicycle down tree-lined paths.
The Portiuncula Center for Prayer has comfortable, air-conditioned meeting rooms and breakout rooms ideal for retreat groups as small as 15 or as large as 50. Audiovisual equipment includes Smart TV, DVD player, CD player, Bluetooth speaker, flipchart, and microphone system. Meetings room rates are $30 per person with an additional $3 per person charge for beverage service. No additional fee is charged for audiovisual equipment. Free Wi-Fi is available to all guests.

The Port has been a retreat center for nearly 30 years. It is a ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. They purchased the 50 acres on which the retreat center is located over 60 years ago.
