Non-vowed Journey

Women and men seeking a Franciscan way of life can journey with us in a number of ways. Whether you choose to become an Associate, volunteer, retreatant, spiritual supporter or donor, you will find a sense of belonging here as we treasure all these relationships.

                                     Associate Relationship

"He has sent them into the world so that they might give witness...
                                              (TOR Rule Ch. IX-29)

Christian men and women are warmly invited to identify more clearly with the charism of the Sisters. Together the Sisters and Associates seek to live the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. In addition to supporting each other in prayer, Associates meet regularly for faith sharing in the areas in which they live. Our Associates have committed to carrying out “works of neighborly love” within their own professions, their families or communities.

Volunteer / Supporter

Works of neighborly love can be done by the following beautiful expressions of caring.

  • Volunteers -- sharing time

"In all of their works the love of God and all people should shine forth."

    (TOR Rule Ch. IV-15)

Would you like to get involved and enjoy the feeling of being a part of the Sisters' lives? Volunteering can be arranged within the time limits of your professional, social and/or family commitments. If you feel called to be a volunteer, print and mail the Application Form found at this link. For more information, contact Sr. Margaret Anne Floto, Volunteer Program Director, at 815.464.3848.

  • Tau Singers -- sharing talent

    "I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praise to my God while I have being." (Psalm 104:33)

Lift your voice in song with the Tau Singers! For more information, call 815.464.3802.

  • Retreatant -- sharing spirit

"... they should not be so busy that the spirit of holy prayer and devotion,
which all earthly goods should foster, is extinguished." (TOR Rule Ch. V-18)

Whether you come for some personal quiet time, attend our programs or enjoy a full retreat, we are here to spiritually journey with you in the quest for the Divine, a wellspring of hope.

  • Spiritual Supporter -- sharing prayer

"We know that the quality of our prayer will be manifested
    in our relationships with others....
    " (C3-5b)

Just as we pray for those who request our intercession, we also need your prayers for us and our mission. Such continual prayer is a loving way of supporting us, whether you live down the block or across the ocean.

  • Friends -- sharing fellowship

"We experience the Lord not only in times of prayer

but also in the people we meet and the events of daily life." (C3-5a)

Each year we offer a number of opportunities to gather in fellowship. People enjoy the company of our Sisters around food and fun, getting to know each other, sharing what is new in our lives, exchanging stories and ideas and reliving happy memories. Our popular Reverse Raffle is in spring and Fraternitas, our largest event, is in fall, with fresh, new events at other times of the year. This special connection with our friends is a treasured gift that enriches our lives and supports our works of neighborly love.
