Provena Health is the offspring of a very holy union. The organization was created in 1997 from the merger of Illinois Roman Catholic hospital groups Franciscan Sisters Health Care (Frankfort), ServantCor (Kankakee),
and Mercy Center for Health Care Services (Aurora) in an effort to stay competitive in an era of managed care. Provena has six hospitals, 14 nursing homes, nearly 30 clinics, five home health agencies, and other health-related programs. The health care system operates in Illinois and Indiana with a staff of more than 1,700 physicians and more than 3,600 beds. Provena is sponsored by Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary, and Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.  See www.provena.org.

Over 100 years have passed since St. Anne’s first opened its doors as a small maternity hospital for pregnant, unwed young women. From those humble beginnings, St. Anne’s has evolved into one of
Southern California’s most highly regarded social service agencies confronting the issues of teen pregnancy and parenting. While its services have responded to meet the changing needs of a modern culture, its core principles of helping young people in need remain throughout each and every one of its programs. To read about its history and the services it provides, go to http://www.stannes.org/.
