St. Francis Woods is the Motherhouse for us, the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.  It is the center from which our Sisters are sent forth to minister with the people of God in the name of our Church. 

It is the center where our Sisters come to celebrate Professions, Jubilees and community gatherings; to seek spiritual solitude during times of retreat; and to renew the love and friendships with one another in the deepest sense of being “sister”.  It is also to this center that our Sisters return when their bodies are no longer able to sustain the demands of active ministry and their spirits lead them to retirement and a ministry of prayer.  It is here that they gather each day to pray for their Sisters in active ministry as well as remember the many men and women with whom they have served throughout the years.  It is here that we gather to share our hopes and dreams for the future.
